Mountaineer, mystic, millionaire, magician. Poet, priest, pariah, prophet. The man Aleister Crowley had many titles in his lifetime, but he was perhaps proudest of the name Poet. Among his many prolific works, he considered a handful of them to be divinely inspired Holy Books. The first of these was titled Liber Liberi vel Lapidis Lazuli Adumbratio Kabbalae Aegyptiarum sub figura VII, also known as Liber VII. The seven chapters of his work are presented here, accompanied by a psychedelic soundtrack that explores & expands on the pacing, tonal range, and mythological imagery of the text. No rhythm machines or samplers were used in the making of this recording. Utilising only bass guitar and synthesizer, the group 7 Ravens has finally placed this mystical masterpiece in a musical setting worthy of its stature.
