Here’s some more information about the book:
“The phenomenon of ghostly apparitions of Black Dogs has been around for nearly a thousand years, but many people’s awareness does not extend further than ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’. This is despite eyewitness sightings still being reported to this day.
Although found across the world, a massive concentration of the folklore sits within the United Kingdom where Black Dogs may be protective, portentous, attached to families, roads or buildings. This book is the first in-depth study on the whole subject to be published by a single author and draws on an archive of over 750 eyewitness accounts, traditions and stories from the 12th century to the present day, including a gazetteer of reports from across the UK.”
