Museum open for the season and lots happening already
The Museum has been open since April 1st and we will be open every day until October 31st. For full details about our opening hours see our website (never trust anywhere else!)
On Monday, we were open as usual and welcomed lots of lovely visitors. We were also visited by two photographers who photographed Museum objects for a forthcoming exhibition in Oxford. The exhibition is called Spellbound: Magic, Ritual, and Witchcraft and will be at the Ashmolean Museum from 31 August 2018 – 6 January 2019. Several Museum objects will be going on loan to the Ashmolean for this exhibition and the photographers were photographing them for the exhibition book/guidebooks/catalogue. More details on the exhibition when we have them, here are the photographers at work in the Museum and the library.
We were also visited by Charlotte Gibson and her father on Monday morning (photographed below). Charlotte is making a documentary about West Country witchcraft with an emphasis on Exeter and the Bideford witches. Charlotte took some shots of the Museum interior for her project and also interviewed Judith Hewitt the Museum Manager. She said it had been a very worthwhile and helpful visit.
The sun is shining, Boscastle is busy and we are up and running again: welcoming visitors and getting involved in all sorts of projects. Let’s hope we have another great year!
