Successful straw craft day

Successful straw craft day

The Museum was delighted to play host to another straw craft workshop with Gillian Nott on Saturday April 29th.  Everyone made fantastic pieces and had a thoroughly enjoyable day.  Gillian does say she pushes the workshop attendees quite hard (but they all seemed happy to have achieved so much in such a limited time – shows you what a difference a great teacher can make!)  Keep your eyes peeled for details of the next straw craft day (date to be confirmed).  On Saturday July 29th and Sunday July 30th, Gillian will be outside the Museum demonstrating her amazing skills to celebrate Lammas.

Here are some photos of the group in action (and the beautiful pieces they created):

Gillian always brings along some of her own work and research to provide inspiration.

We also had some great feedback from course attendees:

“It was a good friendly group and Gillian was very interesting. So it turned out to be both an informative and a surprisingly relaxing day. Added to which I came away with some lovely straw craft pieces which, for an absolute beginner, I am delighted with.”
