What’s been going on at the Museum…Part Three

First Gallery

Cecil Williamson cabinet
Your journey through the Museum now starts with a display on the founder of the Museum, Cecil Williamson.  The text was drafted for us by Steve Patterson, an expert on all things Cecil and author of the fantastic book, Cecil Williamson’s Book of Witchcraft:  A Grimoire of the Museum of Witchcraft.  Gemma Gary kindly donated a wonderful pencil portrait of Cecil for this display...

This cabinet includes a brief overview of Cecil’s life and some items from the Museum collection which belonged to him (such as Sticky).  It also contains a look at the history of the Museum, from its previous incarnation in the Isle of Man to the present day.

Visitors often ask about the Museum, why it exists and why it is in Boscastle.  Hopefully this will help to answer some of those queries and inspire even more interest in Cecil's wonderful collection...

Steve's book is available from our online shop:
