A botanical hand-coloured etching of the herb 'Livelong'.  In Irish folklore this herb is gathered on Midsummer's Eve (St. John's Eve) and hung up in the home.  If it retained its colour until Halloween, the picker would prosper. if it died, the picker would themselves die soon.
