3570 – Six-pointed star pendant belonging to Julia Pearce

Physical description:
Pendant made of silver wire in the shape of a six-pointed star, with a circle inside it containing four smaller circles and a black onyx cabochon. Little silver flowers mask the joins. From the style it may be Middle Eastern or North African. Hanging from a black ribbon.

Part of a collection of gemstone jewellery that belonged to Julia Pearce. She also had several books on the magical and healing properties of crystals and gemstones, now in the museum library.

Interestingly, there is a five-pointed star impressed on the back of the setting of the onyx cabochon.
