3830 – Semele Plate

Physical description:
A plate that is a replica, or in the style, of Ancient Greek ceramics, depicting Semele (the mother of Dionysus) reclining on a couch, holding a lyre, while two young men show her a gown and what looks like a jewellery box. There are baskets of grapes beside the couch.
