3001 – Brass dish with Akan script: Dish

Physical description:
Shallow brass dish, slightly fluted sides, incised with a semi-circle of Akan script (unknown text). Deep red patina with silver wear.

Information:
Of unknown provenance, this dish can only be related to Object No. 3002, a garment thought to be part of sorcerer's robe. This connection is made because both items were found in the same object-box (labelled 'Witch-Doctor. Mau-Mau. Sundry Items' in Williamson's hand), and both appear to be decorated with Akan script (a Ghanaian language).
