The original picture was created by Jose Posada. It is part of his work called the Calaveras (or skulls/skeletons). This picture shows skeletons enjoying the Day of the Dead on November 1st. They are playing music, dancing and eating. These images are said to mock death and demonstrate an irreverent attitude.
