Original text by Cecil Williamson: 'One could write volumes on the subject of green medicine in common use for both animals and human beings in the south west. The mechanics of the operation are simple. Gather your growing plants, extract their juices either by pounding or by a squeezing pressure. To do that the witch uses this type of instrument, compress by turning the screw on the gathered plants and the juice trickles out into the bowl set beneath. Nan Sweet' s press, Okehampton, 1919.'
