3106 – Naked pisky seated on mushroom: Treen, or 'Black Forest', pisky on mushroom

Information:
A carved hardwood pisky, probably an example of nineteenth century 'Black Forest' carving, recently attributed to Swiss craftsmanship specialising in domestic and commercial treen. This item (together with 3105) were probably once part of a larger tableaux, most likely 'match stands' used in coffee houses, smoking rooms and private dwellings. This naked pisky has pointy ears and sits atop a mushroom secured on a base.
