Postcards: Hare Lady postcards

Physical description:
Six small postcards some with photographic images on them and some with reproductions of paintings on them.
Museum classification:
10cm x 15cm

These six postcards were purchased in Salisbury in 2016.  At that time, there was a large display of sculptures in front of Salisbury Cathedral by artists Sophie Ryder.  The sculptures depicted several large people (mostly women) with hare heads.  These postcards show similar works: painting and sculptures.  The sculptures reminded Judith and Peter Hewitt (museum managers) of the wonderful Hare Woman statue by Lionel Miskin (Museum object 1144).

The postcards show:

Painting of a hare woman and a man with an ox head lying down together in a wood.

Painting of a hare woman and a man with an ox head embracing with dogs jumping up on them.

3 x photographs of statues showing hare woman crouching (original statue made from metal)

1 x photo of sculpture showing three hare women with three dogs (this was on display near Salisbury Cathedral in 2016).
