'The Witches Frolic' by Rev. Thomas (Barnham) Ingoldsby, with illustrations by Ernest M. Jessop.

This tales, known as the 'Ingoldsby Legends' were very popular piecemeal publications in Bentleys Miscellany, and were later collected into illustrated book form from the 1840s.  The books were later illustrated by the masters of the art such as Cruikshank, Tenniel and Rackham.  The Museum has three copies of the book, but this rare version is unbound (following the fashion for collectors to buy unbound versions of books and enclose them with their own specially designed cover and/or flyleaf).
