Cornicello Good Luck Charm
A horn-shaped good luck charm on a silver chain.
Large numbers of these tiny dolls making the thumbs-up sign were given by girlfriends and family as good luck charms to soldiers going to fight in the First World War.
This pewter reproduction of a Fums Up Doll in our collection comes in a matchbox, together with a facsimile of the original rhyming text that went with the charm.
Made in Cornwall specially for the Museum.
