Miniature Egyptian-style statuette of a cat.
A full colour, 100% cotton, washable tea towel. This tea towel is copied from a painting in the Museum’s collection showing a Witch’s Sabbat with women and demons feasting, dancing and flying, and people doing cartwheels in front of an enthroned horned figure.
This painting was based on a picture from ‘The History of the Ridiculous Extravagances of Monsieur Oufle’ by Laurent Bordelon (1711) which took a satirical look at beliefs about witchcraft.
