Glitter and Grave Dust: Halloween Past and Present
A booklet accompanying the Museum’s ‘Glitter and Grave Dust’ Halloween Exhibition.
Written by Steve Patterson, who researched the spells for the Museum’s Wise Woman’s Cottage soundtrack.
This book contains all the spells and charms used in the soundtrack, and is also a guide to the objects in the display, including previously unpublished material from the Museum’s archives. It is an evocative account of one of our best-loved displays, bringing to life the folk magic practices, cunning traditions and witchcraft of the West Country.
This paperback edition has a very attractive night-sky blue cover, with a picture of a cat and a moon face inspired by the Moon Mirror in our collection.
152 pages, with black and white illustrations.
