Straw Art demonstration outside the Museum
For several years now Gillian Nott has generously donated her time and expertise to the Museum. Once a year (on the weekend nearest to Lammas) she merrily sits outside the Museum to demonstrate to people the beautiful craft of straw art. Gillian talks enthusiastically with visitors about the customs surrounding the harvest (incuding crying the neck) and also about the beautiful festival of Lammas (August 1st) .
She will be outside the Museum (weather permitting) on Saturday 30th July and Sunday 31st July from 11am until around 3pm. If you’re in the area pop by and find out about this magical aspect of Britain’s culture and heritage! Gillian will be working in front of the wonderful Lammas window display she has created for us (including the amazing St Neot Corn Dolly) so this year it will be extra special!
