Harry Potter: A History of Magic

In 2013 when Simon became the new custodian of the museum, he initiated a series of meetings with major institutions to alert them of the museums unique collection. One such meeting was with the British Library. Several years later we were asked to be the principle lender of objects, the most we have ever loaned, to a major exhibition at the British Library. Items included Stewart Farrar’s Bog Oak staff, our exploded Cauldron and the curiously carved Witch Mirror. The visitor figures are astounding: over 170,000 visitors in London, and over 775,000 people visited the regional displays, including 50 schools visits, and over 14,000 people attended events linked to the exhibition, including a talk by Simon in London .The exhibition went on to break all attendance records at the BL and brought a huge amount of interest and exposure to the MWM.

We would like to thank the curators and staff at the British Library for asking us to be involved in such a fantastic exhibition.
