Many people who practised magic compiled their own notebooks of spells and charms. Although no book of magic associated with the Pendle witches has survived, this is an imagining of what a book written by Jennet Device might have been like.
The spells are based on authentic records, but are of course for entertainment only, as a reflection of our ancestors’ traditional beliefs.
