Four corners around the circle I, II, III, IIII. In the circle numbers 1 to 12, 13 in the middle. Counter-clockwise letters a to m, in the middle clockwise a to m. ‘Ter verduidelijking van Aant. [for clarification of notes] 1950, fol. 70d, documentatie § 9/1950: “It has been suggested that a “baker’s dozen” of 13 really means “The Devil’s dozen” and is derived from “Boucca’s dozen”, Boucca being an old name for a god or spirit, surviving in the buccas of Cornish lore to the present”, &c. (zie [see] F4). H.’
