Original text by Cecil Williamson: 'To the west country witch the snake is of importance for it has an important part to play both in spell making and in its spirit force form. So a necklace made from a snake's skeleton with the red and blue beads of life, red equals blood, blue equals air, confers upon the witch a degree of magical spiritual power. From the Cullompton area.'
