Scan/photographic reproduction of a book published in 1664. The early pages are handwritten.
John Heydon was an astrologer and Rosicrucian (though in this book he denies being "of the Theomagical Order of the Holy Rosie Cross"). The first two books of The Temple of Wisdome are on astrology; Book III introduces the subject of Rosicrucianism, and has an interesting section on "The Alphabet of Angels and Genii" (there is considerable emphasis on astral spirits throughout). The book also includes a treatise on political philosophy, Ocia Imperialia.
On the CD The Emerald Tablets of Thoth and Other Books on Alchemy, Hermeticism, Rosicrucianism and Magic (135.45 VAR 8389).
