"Mrs Bell of Mary Tavy, known in her lifetime as Fairy Bell, worshipped this cat - her beloved Timmey. Mrs Bell was a sensitive - the locals of course called her a witch. She gave predictions. These she arrived at with the help of an ever-present feline spirit force in the form of her renowned cat Timmey. In the latter part of her life she moved to Plymouth, where Timmey died in 1926. Mrs Bell saw to it that she and Timmey were not to be parted by a simple thing like death, hence this shell within which Timmey could continue an earth spirit life with his mistress."
Stuffed by Mrs Bell. Restored after flood of 2004.
