This key-shaped Saint George Candle is part of a collection of candles in the Museum acquired from one of the many Santeria shops to be found across Latin America.

The Key Candle is to open paths, and the colour will be dictated by the Order, Saint or the entity with which you work. According to the instruction card, 'invoking Saint George will help clear paths riddled with demons that make opening difficult, since with his strength nothing resists.'

Santeria (Way of the Saints) is an Afro-Caribbean religion based on Yoruba beliefs and traditions, with some Roman Catholic elements added. The religion is also known as La Regla Lucumi and the Rule of Osha.
