Part of a collection of magical objects (MoW id nos 2522-2556) owned by Gerald Gardner and exhibited at the Witches Mill on the Isle of Man. Has accompanying folder of documentation.
The accompanying documentation describes it as "an extremely powerful witchraft talisman."
There is a somewhat similar amulet, consisting of one jaw of a small animal with a silver mount, in the Pitt Rivers Museum.
These amulets were used in Switzerland as protection against witchcraft intended to cause impotence. They would be worn suspended in front of the man's genital area to attack any spirits or evil influences that threatened him. (Information provided by Wicca Meier-Spring of Hexenmuseum Schweiz)
