Purchased by Cecil Williamson from The Sorcerer's Apprentice in 1979 (see Archive document no. 190). According to the letter from The Sorcerer's Apprentice's proprietor Chris Bray, "The Hoof Handled Athame was carved by one of the last Sheffield Bone Carvers. He did about two dozen of them a few years ago and died shortly afterwards." (The beautifully carved handle is in fact horn, not bone.)- Resource:
