3883 – Brown glass bottle with black wax seal

Physical description:
A brown glass bottle (flattened oval in shape) sealed with black wax over what looks like a cork (just visible through a hole in the wax). Scuffed and dirty exterior suggests that it was once buried in dirt. Desiccated contents rattling around inside.

Bottle of unknown contents and purpose.  Probably some kind of witch bottle.

Moulded into the base is a UK registered design number 743589, which dates the bottle design to January or February 1929, and a US number 7984Z.
