Original text by Cecil Williamson: 'The spirit of copper captured and enclosed within this specimen glass container, once owned and exploited by Granny Wells of Redruth. With it she went around the mining areas in Cornwall divining for copper, pointing out places where copper might be found. The strange thing is that she made some good finds. The spirit in the glass container has long since gone. That is to say, the alcohol used to pressure this specimen has evaporated away. As for Granny Wells' conjured spirit of copper, who knows, it may still be with us within the glass container.'
