2737 – Witch Bottle

Physical description:: Witch Bottle - a clear glass bottle containing plant material and other magical ingredients, with a cork sealed with red wax.

Information:: Made using traditional magical techniques by one of the donors, who writes that it was made "for protection for a lady from an ex".

4171 – Cigarette Lighter Amulet

A cigarette lighter in the shape of a Bible. Made of copper and brass, with a cross on the front. Carried as an amulet by a soldier during World War II.

4223 Box of Charms

A small box, an elongated oval in shape, made of a light brown substance, probably horn, with a wooden base, tiny round-headed nails around the bottom edge, a cross carved out of bone (?) fixed to one side, and a lid with a small skull carved from bone (?) as a knob. The box contains eighteen small charms: a wishbone; a crucifix; a sacred heart medallion; a Christ medallion; four nails (one bent into a loop); a very ornate silver key; three bones, probably vertebrae (from a snake?); a long thin bone; a tiny round bone; a skull similar to the one on the lid; an elongated silver skull; a skull carved from dark wood; an eliptical bead made from horn or wood.

1193 – 3 Talisman discs with text card

Round plastic bronze-effect talisman (design of various cross shapes), to be worn as a pendant, mounted on a card saying it is reproduced from the Key of Solomon. Plus two other similar talismans, all on backing cards.
