Information:

A 17th Century treacle glazed stoneware flagon believed to be a witch bottle, discovered at Lawson House, Dearham in 1984. During building work carried out to brick-up a door of the property, the bottle was found beneath the step. The original lintel of the door bore the date 1670.

Contents included hair and bent pins but they were sadly thrown away when the bottle was washed prior to being donated to this collection.
