An Ancient Egyptian amulet in the shape of the head of the Goddess Hathor. Made of a brownish ceramic with considerable areas of turquoise glaze, some of them still quite bright and shiny.

The Goddess Hathor was often depicted as a cow, and when she is depicted in human form, as here, she often has distinctive ears like a cow's ears.

She is also often depicted with a horned headdress, making her an interesting example of a Horned Goddess (deities with horns are usually male).

She was the companion and protector of the Sun God Ra, making her a popular subject for amulets.
