4229 – Spirit Pot
- Physical description:
- A ceramic jar in a classic vase shape, with a domed lid (sealed); the body painted dark green and the lid a lighter green. There are four vertical bands, probably made of brass, attached to the body of the jar, with ornate brass cross-shapes between them, and a similar cross shape on the top of the lid, which has a red square painted over it. There are various magical names written in red on the body of the vase and in black on the lid.

Part of a collection of objects bequeathed to the Museum by Jake Stratton-Kent, who died on 17th January 2023.
According to information provided with the bequest:
'As a folk necromancer Jake worked with the spirits of the Grimorium Verum.... Three Spirit Pots (sealed) which have been used for spell work with the Verum spirits and bear their names and/or seals. Large green pot, possibly a funeral urn? With the names Lucifer, Satanachia, Claunech and Kleppoth on one side, and Agliarept, Frimost and Musisin and Khil on the other. These are all Grimorium Verum spirits. The lid is ealed with AMN, AIWAZ, ANKH and ABRA, and a red square, once more showing a creative combination of goetic and Thelemic magic.'
