1475 – Witch Bottle

A wide stoneware bottle, greyish cream in colour, with a short neck sealed with dark blue sealing wax over a cork (the kind of hard wax used for sealing letters in the past).

919 – Ralph Harvey Staff

Reddish wood staff carved at one end into a head with a brass horned helmet. Much gold-coloured decoration - brass studs etc.

A tree branch cut to form a lidded box, with brass discs at either end, a brass hinge, and four brass feet, and also the remains of a catch. The wood is highly polished or varnished, creating a dark patina. The box is also quite heavy.
