Original text by Cecil Williamson: 'Small table top charcoal brazier and long-handled shallow round pan. Dried leaves, flower petals, powders, resins etc., were placed in the shallow round pan and gently roasted over the glowing charcoal in the brazier, so as to create pungent or sweet smelling vapours pleasing to the witch's familiar spirits which she wished to call up and lure to her, purchased from a travelling person known as, "Pretty Flowers" as she traded selling wild flowers from door to door - "lady buy my pretty flowers?"'
