2221 – Horn pendant

Physical description:
A piece of horn with the end cut off. The narrow end has been slotted into a metal (silver?) fitting with holes in it, for suspension. The metal is turning a little green with 'bronze disease' and the green has stained the horn.

Information:

Pieces of bone, tooth and horn were sometimes used as pendant charms. There are similar examples in the Clarke collection at the Scarborough museum. T.Cadbury, 6/09/2011.
