4239 – Islamic Bronze Seal Amulet

Physical description:
A small seal / amulet, made of lightly patinated bronze, with a round base inscribed with an Islamic magical text, within a decorative border. The handle section is pierced with three small round holes, with another hole at the top suggesting it could be worn hung from a chain or cord. There is currently a modern ring through the hole. C. 11th - 12th century AD. Excavated in Syria.
