3676 – Pixie Horse Brass

Physical description:
A horse brass with a fairly plain scalloped surround, but featuring the figure of a Pixie in the centre. The Pixie appears to be naked apart from short boots and a pointed cap, and is scratching one of his ears with a twig or straw. He is leaning on a rather tall toadstool.

This is very similar to the good luck charm MWM id. no. 2050, which is inscribed 'Exmoor Pixie'. However, similar charms on the Internet are sometimes inscribed 'Cornish Pisky', so it seems the design could be adapted for either side of the border.
