2007 – Clay Poppet with pins Curse

Physical description:
Small poppet, made from grey clay that is blackened by burning especially around the head. The figure is of a female with 4 pins in the left breast angling down towards the heart one pin in neck 2 pins in the eyes and one in the top of the head.

From Cecil Williamson's house after his death. This was a personal belonging rather than part of his collection. Presumably made by CW as a curse.

It seems to have been made according to instructions given in the confession of Anne Whittle, one of the Pendle Witches.
