Physical description:
Red fabric doll with 5 black and 5 white pins, and writing on its body to indicate the points where the pins should be stuck in - some for misfortune and some for good fortune. With packaging.

Commercially made (see 1765, also 635 & 636). Basically humorous (misfortunes include 'bounced check' and 'fleas', and good fortune includes 'kittens' and 'enlightenment').
The packaging reads, 'We think you know what to do with this. And we hope that you only use the white pins. However, since you have free choice in this life, we have supplied black pins as well.'
