4231 – Spirit Pot

Physical description:
A small round pot made of turned wood, rich brown in colour, with a (sealed) lid. There is a symbol (a spirit seal) painted on the lid in red. When the pot is tilted, numerous small objects can be heard moving inside it. There is green felt on the bottom.

Part of a collection of objects bequeathed to the Museum by Jake Stratton-Kent, who died on 17th January 2023.

According to information provided with the bequest:

'As a folk necromancer Jake worked with the spirits of the Grimorium Verum.... Three Spirit Pots (sealed) which have been used for spell work with the Verum spirits and bear their names and/or seals.... Third spirit pot, turned wood, with spirit seal of Satanakia, a deputy of Lucifer in the Verum system.'
