The lotus wand is a ritual tool that the Adept (member grade of the order) uses in the Golden Dawn system. The shaft of the wand is divided into 12 parts, each with its own colour, and a corresponding zodiac sign, as pictured below.

The Lotus Wand is associated with the Egyptian goddess Isis, who was a protective goddess. She used powerful magic spells to help people in need. Isis was the wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus - the other two Egyptian gods associated with the other two wands in a set (objects 1411 and 1412.).
